چکیده

The interaction influence on subway tunnels adjacent to foundation excavation was produced by excavation construction, and it is great significance for the correct assessment of its size and influence on the safety of subway operation. Based on the foundation excavation project, some typical foundation excavation profiles are selected, the calculation and analysis on additional settlement and horizontal displacement of subway tunnels adjacent to foundation excavation construction in four construction conditions are conducted by finite element numerical method. The results were shown that there is less influence on subway tunnel due to excavation construction in first two construction conditions, and additional settlement and horizontal displacement of subway tunnels is less than 4mm; In the following two construction conditions, both additional settlement and horizontal displacement of subway tunnels structure in somewhere are greater than 4mm, which of other everywhere are less than 4mm, which basically meet the requirements of subway operation line track deformation, additional settlement and horizontal displacement of subway tunnel by foundation excavation will be controlled within the range ± 4mm.

Numerical Investigation on Effects of Deep Excavations’ Position on Existing Metro Tunnels in Urban Areas

Nowadays deep excavations are needed for construction of foundation of high rise buildings, providing space for parking and etc. In some cases deep excavations may be constructed in the vicinity of the subway tunnels and causes unpredicted extra displacements and internal forces in tunnel lining of tunnels which were not designed for them and consequently affect serviceability of tunnel. Theref...

Building a deep isolating wall by an existing rail tunnel

This paper describes the design, construction and early performance of a retaining structure close to a subway tunnel in Barcelona. The excavation, about 16 m deep, was carried out in 2001 during the construction of a new hospital, and involved a rectangular area with the longer side (170 m) almost parallel to the tunnel. The design had to fulfil two requirements: first, the influence of the ex...

Settlement Impact Analysis and Countermeasure Research of the Down Traversing Formed by the Double-Arch Subway Tunnels through the Existing Railways in Loess Area

With the large-scale construction of city subways, the down traversing formed by subway running tunnels through the existing railways or railway yards are increasing day by day. Down traversing in shield method becomes common; however, the engineering cases which can be referable in the down traversing formed by the shallow-buried excavation of double-arch tunnels through the existing railways ...

Cross Section Effects on Convergence-Confinement Method in Multi Stage Tunnel Excavation

Dimensionless coefficient () in convergence confinement method shows the relaxation of stress in the wall of the tunnel at different excavation movements. This factor is considered a constant number in previous studies and tunnel geometric characteristics (such as depth, cross-section shape, radius, soil material, etc.) are not included in its determination; however, ignoring these effects can...
